 この表現は、Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings(邦題は『シャン・チー/テン・リングスの伝説』)で使われます。
 マーベル・コミックのキャラクター「シャン・チー」をベースにしたアメリカのスーパーヒーロー映画で、今年(2021年)9月にリリースされました。マーベル・スタジオが製作する、「マーベル・シネマティック・ユニバース」の第25作目です。

「『映画の英語 ― アメリカの名作』にようこそ。ここでは、映画に使われたアメリカ英語について学習します」

The movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” will be released in September 2021.
「映画『シャン・チー/テン・リングスの伝説』は2021年9月にリリースされる予定です。
 VOA でのこの動画はリリースされる前に作られましたので、未来形になっています。

It tells the story of Shang-Chi, a super-hero who uses his skills in Chinese martial arts to fight his enemies.
「その映画は、中国の武術の技を使って敵と戦うスーパーヒーローであるシャン・チーの話です」
 martial art は「武術、格闘技」で、特に護身術に使われるものを言いますが、戦闘に使う技を言うこともあります。
 fight には、目的語が直接続きます。

Shang-Chi faces the past and his father, Wenwu, when he is drawn into the secretive Ten Rings organization.
「シャン・チーは、秘密結社であるテン・リングス組織に引き入れられたとき、過去と父親のウェンウーと対決します」
 face は動詞で使われています。「対面する、直面する」という意味です。
 be drawn into は「~に引き込まれる」。drawn は draw の過去分詞。
 secretive は「秘密の」という形容詞。secret の形容詞形。

Listen for the question, “And where did that get you?”
「And where did that get you? という質問を聴いてみましょう」

I gave you ten years to live your life.
「私はお前に自分で生きる10年という歳月を与えた」

And where did that get you?

What do you think it means to ask “And where did that get to?”?
「And where did that get you? と訊ねるのはどういう意味だと思いますか」

(A) Did you take a trip recently?
「最近旅行をしましたか」

or (B) What did you gain from your experience?
「あるいは、(B) 経験から何を得ましたか」

Listen again.
「もう一度聴きましょう」

The answer is (B). “And where did that get you?” is the same as asking “What did you gain from your experience?”
「答えは (B) です。『それがお前をどこに連れて行ってくれたのだ』は『経験からお前は何を得たのだ』と訊ねるのと同じです」
 この get は「連れて行く」という意味で使われています。

People use it when considering whether actions of the past could prove useful or damaging in the present.
「過去の行動が現在において有益なのか害になっているのかを考えるとき、この表現を使います」
 prove useful は「有益だと証明する」。
